Is it legal to buy cigarettes online? Has anyone ever done this before? If so, were there any repercussions? Yeah its perfectly legal, as long as your over 18. I often buy my favorite rolling tobacco online because its hard to get it in shops. Never had any «repercussions». - RetroNova

Oh, that’s unusual. Considering, that I didn’t think you can really prove your age over the internet?
Do you need proof when buying them over the internet?

Beware the huge trade in fake cigarettes. The real ones are dangerous enough without imitaion fags and all the excess that goes into them.
If you have to smoke then for pitys sake get them from a reputable source. Post rating 1

It’s legal, but I don’t see why you would want to order cigarettes online (despite the obvious), it’s not like it’s any cheaper.

When I’ve bought alcohol online they use the electoral role to check that you’re old enough (and they didn’t say when I ordered, I only knew because I was having it delivered to a different address to where I was registered so they had to ring and ask). So perhaps most companies use that?
I also know some companies ID on the door on delivery. I think supermarkets do that with online shopping.

Just go away. Everyone who smokes knows what might happen.
You dont tell people to not drive because they might crash their car and die do you…
Just go away…And no, I dont smoke. I don’t have a problem with people choosing to smoke (as long as it’s not affecting other people i.e. pregnant women etc.). However, that analogy is pretty bad. I have read somewhere that for regular smokers, old age is the third most common reason for death, behind cardiac arrest and lung cancer. I’d say that’s a worse risk than driving a car.

Some bureaucrats decided that they were in a better position to decide what your property rights do and do not apply to, and they have said that we can’t freely trade online. It’s a shame really. They have also decided that people under an arbitrary age limit (18) are deemed unable to view images of tobacco, so you better be over their silly limit if you’re even thinking about buying online young lady! But but but…. Im not on the electoral role!I should really sort that out… lol Not certain by any means that that’s how they ALL do it, just the site I bought from. But it would make sense. Sign up anyway, it’s easy and free and has other benefits, so I’m told. Apart from I worry about jury duty…

With alcohol Tesco/Waitrose ID on the door if you look under 21. Don’t know if it would be the same for fags.
